The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its “deep gratitude” to the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for the support provided during “the grave hours of the unequal and illegitimate aggression against the noble Venezuelan people,” stated the Asian leader.

According to an official statement released through the Telegram account of Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, the Emir of Qatar and his Prime Minister supported international efforts to guarantee the “proof of life” of the constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the First Lady, Cilia Flores, after they were allegedly “kidnapped in clear violation of the state immunity that protects heads of state.”
The text also highlights Venezuela’s recognition of Qatar’s willingness to contribute to a working agenda and dialogue between the United States and Venezuela, based on “respect for international law, the sovereignty of nations, and the principles of peace.”
“Venezuela appreciates this gesture of solidarity and international responsibility, which reaffirms the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual respect as the only legitimate means for resolving disputes between states,” the statement reads.
